Claudio Romero, a second-year competitor for Virginia representing Chile, won the men's discus title with a second-round throw of 217-1 (66.17m) at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Romero placed third last year at 201-4 (61.36m). Romero became the first men's discus throw champion from Virginia since Filip Mihaljevic of Croatia in 2017.
